We thank you very much for the valuable feedback you provided via our online survey. Most of the families expressed interest to enroll their child/ren for in-person education, indicating that they will decide in the fall and winter. Based on your input, we have made the decision to postpone the reopening of JRoots and Kachol Lavan classes for in-person learning until January 2021 and will end the last week of May. The exception will be the Bat and Bar Mitzvah Program that is projected to start after the High Holidays.
For prospective Bat and Bar Mitzvah students, the registration details and program outlines will be circulated to families in late September.
For the 2020-2021 school year, J. Roots and Kachol Lavan will be opening at the Bialik Hebrew Day School and the Schwartz/Reisman Centre (SRC) and will not be opening at the Prosserman JCC or the Beaches location. In order to reopen safely during the current phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are a significant number of planning and controls that need to be implemented. Some of the controls include the need for trained screeners at school entry, additional cleaning staff, and adequate supplies of PPE. There will be reconfigurations of classrooms and furniture. We encourage you to register for the Vaughan locations and welcome you to be apart of our community there.
We will continue to communicate frequently to provide 2021 supplementary Hebrew school registration information and Prosserman JCC and SRC programming opportunities.
