Building on a solid foundation of Jewish values and with a strong connection to Israel, the Schwartz/Reisman Centre strives to strengthen individuals, families and communities within an inclusive and welcoming environment. We welcome everyone and share the richness and traditions of Jewish culture with the community at large through the advancement of physical, intellectual, social and spiritual well-being. Our team is guided by our vision of inspiring you to live the Jewish life you want to live!
A community does not just happen overnight.
A community must be created, built, nurtured and supported. It is a product of shared spaces and values. It is shaped and guided by those with vision and a love of the community.
In York Region a Jewish community is coming to life. Through the vision of UJA Federation’s Tomorrow Campaign, we are building the versatile, practical and needed infrastructure for this community to flourish for decades to come.
On the 50 acre Joseph &Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus we are creating a home of celebration, learning, culture and wellness. A home where people of all ages, abilities, affiliations and means are welcome. A home where one of the fastest growing Jewish communities in North America can put down roots.
Through the foresight of determined leadership, the generosity of our valued philanthropists and grassroots involvement, we are well on our way!
Be part of the history that’s happening on the Lebovic Campus.
Join us as we build the Community of Tomorrow.
Construction has kicked into high gear on the Joseph & Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus - one of three centres of Jewish Life in the GTA being transformed through UJA Federation's Tomorrow Campaign.
The current phase of development began in December 2009, and the progress that has been made to date is breathtaking. Already well underway at the corner of Bathurst Street and Lebovic Center Drive are the incredible facilities that will house the schwartz/reisman centre (SRC). THis state-of-the-art, 100,000 sq. ft. JCC, slated to open in the summer of 2012, will be the heart and soul of Jewish life North of Steeles - a place of learning and exploration, arts and culture, and health and wellness for all members of our community.
The Phil Granovsky Sports and Recreation Pavilion will feature:
- A cutting-edge Fitness and Conditioning Centre with top-of-the-line cardiovascular and resistance training equipment
- Studios for aerobics, yoga and spinning
- An Indoor Aquatics Centre with a 25-metre Main Pool and Therapeutic Pool for seniors, children and those with special needs
- Spacious changing room facilities for women, men and families
- Athletic and Sports programs in the Sydney and Florence Cooper and Family Sports Hall already in use by TanenbaumCHAT at the Kimel Family Education Centre
The Children and Family Pavilion will feature:
- The Gorman Shore Goodman Childhood Education Centre
- Nine classrooms to accommodate over 160 daycare and pre-school-age children
- The Goldstein Family Playground
- A Family Resource Centre
- A Community Arts Centre with studios for dance, ceramics, painting classes and more
- The Special Program Suite for Reena's adult day program
Also under construction is the Community Services Pavilion, whose third floor will house the Mount Sinai Academic Family Health Team. Embodying the best in community-based health and wellness services, the centre will be staffed by a number of full-time general practitioner physicians, nurse practitioners, visiting specialists and other allied health care providers.
And at the heart of the complex will be the Sharp Family Atrium which will connect to the various pavilions and the Leo and Sala Goldhar Conference and Celebration Centre.
Together, these remarkable facilities are the second of several planned construction phases for Lebovic Campus. The initial phase of development saw the opening of the Kimel Family Education Centre, the northern home of TanenbaumCHAT, in 2007.

The Tomorrow Campaign - unparalleled in its boldness and scope - is revolutionizing the landscape of Jewish Toronto.
Launched on April 16, 2000, the Tomorrow Campaign (then known as Jewish Toronto Tomorrow) set out to reach the ambitious goal of raising $400 million over the course of a decade to build and revitalize three Jewish centres across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Through the remarkable generosity and vision of various community philanthropists, $300 million has already been raised.
Across three beautiful campuses - the Downtown District anchored at Bloor and Spadina, the Sherman Campus at Bathurst and Sheppard, and the Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus in the heart of York Region - new facilities and services are being created to meet the needs of our diverse and growing community.
From sports and recreation to health care and education, from arts and culture to family support and social services, the Tomorrow Campaign is literally laying the foundation for Jewish life across the GTA.
Conceived with the meticulous planning, practical innovation and creativity required for building the world’s greatest cities, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto's Tomorrow Campaign is raising the bar for Jewish communities across the globe.
