In Hebrew, HAMIFGASH means “the meeting place.” SRC’s Hamifgash program is designed to bring communities together. It offers all Jews living in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA ) an opportunity to meet and express their diversity on a common ground of acceptance and unity. This is the third successful year of the program thanks to the engagement and welcoming Israeli Canadian Community.

Through our experiences working specifically with the Israeli Canadian community, SRC has learned to appreciate the need and desire for special Israeli cultural and community events.

The need to express identity, language and culture is not only unique to the Israeli community, but to the Russian, South American and other communities in the GTA as well.

By creating a place for all these diverse backgrounds to give their experience a cultural and artistic voice, we can take important steps towards creating a more unified Jewish community where all backgrounds are embraced.

Hamifgash programs run mainly in the Thornhill/Vaughan region but also take place in partnership with the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre at Bloor & Spadina in downtown Toronto.

Please join us in celebrating a community of communities.
